"And indeed there will be time
For the yellow smoke that slides along the street,
Rubbing its back upon the window-panes;
There will be time, there will be time
To prepare a face to meet the faces that you meet;
There will be time to murder and create,
And time for all the works and days of hands
That lift and drop a question on your plate;
Time for you and time for me,
And time yet for a hundred indecisions,
And for a hundred visions and revisions,
Before the taking of a toast and tea."

some things are just cosmic. thats all there is to it. i believe in a collective consciousness that all human beings share to some degree, be it large or small. the exact parameters of this function are up for debate, but i am convinced that it exists.
today at work i struck up a conversation with a coworker when i saw she had an elliott smith cd on her desk. we chatted about his music, and her 'friend of a friend of a friend' that once had dinner with him. i remarked that just last week i had brought a few of his cds to work to listen to at my desk as well. what a coincidence i thought.
a half hour later she came over to me with a ghost white look on her face. "elliott smith was found dead yesterday".
needless to say, i had yet heard the news. but for some reason both of us seemed to feel the need to mourn him... even BEFORE we learned of his death.

I’m waiting for the train
The subway that only goes one way
The stupid thing that will come to pull us apart
And make everybody late
You spent everything you had
Wanted everything to stop that bad
And now I’m a crushed credit card registered to smith
Not the name that you call me with
You turned white like a saint
I’m tired of dancing on a pot of gold flake paint
Oh we’re so very precious, you and i
And everything that you do makes me want to die
Oh I just told the biggest lie
I just told the biggest lie
The biggest lie
goodbye, elliott

the average 5th grader is accustomed to being spoon-fed generic musical garbage. and they devour their artless, soulless, mindless shit with such ravenous intensity it makes me sick.
I didn't think I could do it, but I watched a bit of TRL today to remind myself of how much I want the world to end.
the number 1 and number 2 videos got a combined total of about 2 minutes of airtime. these weren't 1 minute videos. they just played the hook of the song. it was repeated within the song a few times, then some little skanky bitches interjected about how they "luv omigodomigodomigodomigod." then the VJ du-jour promotes all the of the empty sacks of flesh that'll be on the show next week, some more commercials, and then MTV steals some more souls.
A few more years and it'll just be the VJ's telling you how the song kinda goes. and then they'll go on about how it's great and everyone needs to buy the album (on sale this week for $14.99 at fine major retail chains everywhere).
So much mindless indoctrination. So much wasted potential. So many corrupted minds.

Interesting, indeed.

the box of my cub foods brand grahm crackers says "old fashion grahm crackers".
has the technology of the grahm cracker advanced to the point in which stateing it as old fashion is a good advertising slogan?
the bugs gathering on my window are making a sound resembleing that of static. the seperating of socks taken from a fabric sheetless dryer load. or the sound of turning on the television for the first time in the day. but more constant. every so often throughout the day i use the vacume to eliminate the cluster, and wait a couple hours for a new one to form.
they are less active on cloudy days.
this makes the sun annoying
