I finally figured out what was laggin down my blogger... on 12/5/02 kittyfire posted reguarding the dalnet netsplits and there were 'unruly' characters that made the blog machine go *cough cough*. so after republishing and moving my site, things are starting to get back to normal. immediate media :)

here are some pictures. my brother got a camera for xmas :)

And silence fills the blog.... Everyone's so curled inside their own worlds like cats ignoring beckoning calls. But it's to be expected: 'tis the season to leave behind the sad solitary computer and snuggle with family.

Or something like that.

I will have to leave my philosophical ideas about the dark nature of Star Trek for some long-winded entry some other time, because right now I'm exhausted and I just don't feel the urge to expound upon things that no one should really expound upon.

Anyway, I hope everyone had a good Christmas... And Chad, damnit, get the link to the blog back up and running. A mere site index page is completely unfulfilling.

:) Off to bed.

just out of curiosity, what are the philosophical faults that are guiding all things Trek? I have usually heard people claim to either like or dislike it, but based on their own tastes or those copped from those around them (sci-fi is stupid, star trek portrays a hopeful future, etc), and are usually poorly supported. But I have almost never heard someone say they don't like it's philosophy (or rather the philosophy that guides it). I am curious about what that philosophy is....

Well, seeing as how I have my own prejudices against Star Trek, I went into the movie expecting the worst and came out, not disappointed, but merely supported in my theories about the philosophical faults that guide the whole series.

So I guess it's all in the expectations you had beforehand.

(And no, bacon bits do not actually exist. They're only a figment of your baked potato's imagination that is then projected into your psyche via spiritual taste manifestations.)

nor are bacon bits. They are chemically engineered to be completely nothing. No nutrition, no fat. Are they even there?
Was anyone else as disappointed with Nemesis as I am? I don't want to spoil for those who haven't seen, but I was sorely disappointed. I will explain myself after everyone has seen it.
back to studying for finals.

Who likes mashing birthday cake into scoops of ice cream?
I know I do.

It's like a cake cream shake. And it doesn't get any better than that.

maybe if we all post really fast to the blog we can simulate a chat. maybe a step backward to something like ICQ? how about AIM? hehee
UNIX has a nifty little chat feature that is amusing because the last time anyone ever used it to seriously chat was 1978. But seriously, folks. If I were taking computer networks this semester, I could write a program that would do the necessary stuff. But I am not. oh well.
keep the blog alive... I love this place

dalnet totally sucks. these network problems severely inhibit communication. i check the chat room, and i see hours of

CENSORED
CENSORED
CENSORED
CENSORED
CENSORED

undernet is ok, although they have had MASSIVE netsplit problems in the past (years ago), EFNET is a very elitist network (at least they are in most channels).. as for other networks, i dont know about those...

even 3 netsplits a day wouldn't be as bad as 3/hour we're currently experiencing..

I hate Dalnet. Can't we all agree to move to Undernet or some other properly functioning network?

Ah... I miss having this to check up on.
This hosting situation needs to be resolved.

So let it be written, so let it be done.
