As if you needed any further proof:
Fair & Balanced?
After all, Rupert's Newscorp and its affiliates including Fox News, have never really lived up to the aforementioned marketing slogan. Even some of the most brainwashed extremist members of the American Taliban have admitted to me that sometimes while they're watching FNC a little flicker of critical thought bubbles in their head - for a moment. Sometimes the slant placed on the news is detected by even the zombies themselves. Like I said, I have known a few to admit such moments of clarity to me. Some then follow with a quick justification: proclaim all other media is so 'left' leaning that their presence is needed for.. balance?
Now to hear the claim of FNC filling a void and somehow balancing this 'left leaning media' - I can honestly say that I have not done any empirical studies to conclude one way or the other.
I don't understand this at all. First, this FNC isn't journalism. Its a product. To call this 'news' is a tragic misnomer. The facts are under-reported if at all, with no more regard for the truth than Hanna Barbera or The Daily Show. Wait.... a few studies about FNC vs Daily Show audiences showed that watching 22 minutes of comedy news left you better informed than hours of FNC. Interesting. If you think about it, the small sentence or two that Jon Stewart will read to preface his punchline, in effect has more substance, and fact content then a considerable portion of FNC programming. That is my conclusion. Wait. Lets get empirical baby:
It's no joke: IU study finds The Daily Show with Jon Stewart to be as substantive as network news
Not surprisingly, a second-by-second analysis of The Daily Show's audio and visual content found considerably more humor than substance -- Stewart himself has insisted that he is a comedian and not a journalist. A similar analysis of network coverage found considerably more hype than substance in broadcast newscasts. Examples of such hype included references to polls, political endorsements and photo opportunities.
She concludes that its an "infotainment" thing encompassing all network news sources. Too bad her name is Fox. Huh. Anyways. sidetrack.
Fox News isn't news. Again, its a product. Reporting the news is not such desirable a product as selling someone their own selfish ideology. That is a much fancier product. Such a product has to be managed with the micro in mind. The memo is handed down, and soon everyone is parroting the same sentence. The chain of command executing orders, feeding the public this sensationalist hype media void of fact. You must safeguard against the threat of zombies breaking free my programming. Ensure that all of the talking heads agree, and repeat and repeat and repeat the same lies.
I, as Bernie Sanders did, have accused FNC of being an arm of the GOP. I have been laughed at, sure. "How can you possibly think the government could run the media".
Well, you see, therein exists a symbiotic relationship that revolves around power, and money by war profiteering. The problem is systemic. There are too many backs to be scratched here, and ethics are out the window. War increases ratings and gives you an easy theme to ride day in and day out. State sponsored false flag terrorism has shown itself throughout history. In case you forgot about the memo just released, or are too lazy to scroll - here's another link:
(Fair & Balanced?) - contains sentences such as:
"The war on terror goes on without interruption." and closing with -
"Just because the Dems won, the war isn't over"
Incredible. The connotation is can not be mistaken. Whoever wrote these lines knows that they have considerable power and influence. The tone paints a picture of a maniacal villain hunched over plotting with fluttering fingers. But more than that, it obviously commands the direction and path they must take to form this FNC product. Whether that product be GOP zombies delivered to the polls on a platter with nothing but R in mind, or flickering media beamed into every cable subscriber's home. A cocoon of justification and comfort must be woven for the zombies, as to not jostle... as to not induce a flicker moment of objective thought.
So there you have it. The symbiotic flow chart is obvious to me.
Perception is the most important part of politics in these times. As a politician, it is vital that the media treats you well. The president must be seen in a commanding light. Leaked internal FNC memos show this mindset. Tony Snow graduated right from the ranks of FNC into the white house for science sake. He didn't even have to change the tape reel in the back of his head that repeats GOP propaganda. Shouldn't it be obvious to you yet? Follow it.
Remember how I said I didn't do any empirical studies? Well... these folks did.

Bah...let them have their freedom of speech...we're going to be the stooges no matter what.
I find Fox News equally as comical as the Daily Show.
