Rediscover Communication

I took CS off software video mode, and it helped a bit, but didn't do a whole lot. I think the problem lies in my not having a video card. From what I learned my laptop allocates a certain amount of memory for video, and doesn't have a separate card. It works well most of the time, but it just will hang a bit. I need to buy more RAM anyway. Does anybody know if there is a real difference in memory brands? I was going to buy some K-byte/Reptron stuff, but chickened out. Maybe it doesn't make that big a difference. I have heard from folks in the know that Crucial is best, but the question remains: Will I notice?
